i have a spoken vocal track i want to tame a bit, vol wise and some occasional mild P/S...

now, i have the fish fillets, but they never seem to make and diff when i put them in..dunno why, they just dont seem to work... (maybe settings are too subtle?)

so, any suggestions?

I find the spitfish works really well. It is worth trying the couple of presets in there for it if you can't here any difference- the frequency setting has to match the voice.

Krim...I use a Waves C1 to nail the esses if there are a great many of them, other wise I will just "pull" down the really offensive ones, which usually gives the best transparency.

Ducking heavy plosives is a bit more of a sticky wicket, as it can thin the vocal out too noticably. If there are not too many, or if transparency is of very, very critical importance, I highlight just the initial transient and apply some aggressive low cut EQ. This approach seems to sort things as well as anything if you have to deal with post editing tracks.

well, i have 3 diff voaclists (male) talking, and i have arranged it all (roughly) so i may render the track and sort it in SF. From old mp3's, noise removal has worked, and EQ makes it sound good now, its just a bit odd (the original recodring is from an old tape live on stage at a lecture)
