An Upright Acoustic Bass.
No GIGA format, no EXS24 format, Not Halion format, No Kontakt...just something simple that sounds good.
The best thing I've seen is the Dynamic Acoustic bass SF2 for $12 from Sonic IMplants. ARe there any multi-sampel collections or vsti's that I'm missing?
(I have Sampletank 2L, but I'm short on the cash for upgrading to the 2XL version)

Why reject EXS24 or Kontakt? EXS24 and some Kontakt instruments are simply multi-sample (wav)collections with an extra file for mapping. There's an excellent double bass in EXS24 format at echochamber.chSaukar30 wrote:An Upright Acoustic Bass.

You could even use Translator Free to convert it to soundfont.

If you can wait a couple of weeks or so, Manytone is working on an accoustic upright bass. I expect it to be very good and affordable, judging by the UBK precedent.

There's one here for free:
http://www.lyd-teknik.dk/soundfonts.html
It's soundfont. All the fonts on that page are pretty good.

Just added the Canuck to my KVR Watchlist. Thanksspacefox wrote:If you can wait a couple of weeks or so, Manytone is working on an accoustic upright bass. I expect it to be very good and affordable, judging by the UBK precedent.
