VST-AU adapter in DP5 Automation

I'm using the latest FXpansion VST-AU adapter in DP5 on a Mac running OS 10.3.9. There is no automation available in my GRM Tools VST wrapped effects other than bypass.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Have I done something wrong in setting up the VST plugins with the wrapper? The FXPansion website suggests that all parameters will be automatable.
