Hi

Me new owner of the Filterbank2 :-)

Impressions? Tips?

I am reading the manual and fiddling right now.
Noticed that: sometimes switching between presets produces bursts. My speakers don't like that.

Synth module: the filters in the Synth module are sweet. Really impressive, take the Theremine or the Vocals. Also here I have two questions in mind:

1 I get occasional drops. With a P4 2,6 Ghz. and 2 Gb of ram I don't really get this. I haven't experienced with any other vst, not even the most demanding. Raising the buffer to 512 or 1024 samples didn't help either.

2 I wonder where the sound comes from, I mean there's no ADSR slides or knobs.

Look forward to hearing what you think.

Hi leonard! i Haven't seen that problem on my system...maybe some folks in the tone2 kvr forum might be able to speak to that issue? My AMD athlon 64 3500+ system has not showed Filterbank2 as being problematic in that way at all...wierd....sorry you're seeing (err...hearing this trouble!)

the "step" controls your envelope on Filterbank2. you can control the shape of the envelope by changing the settings for "sync" (controls the speed at which the envelope acts on your sound),"shape" (dictates the general shape of the envelope) and "send" -this influences (to positive and negative values...) the degree to which the "step" settings are introduced into the synth or filter's sound.
It's a bit different from the way envelopes are controlled in other synths but the principle is mostly the same :hihi:

like I said before though, you may want to try for a better answer than this in the tone2 forum...I certainly have not spent enough time with it to know that much about Filterbank2, but I know I like it :hihi:

Hi again

well, talking about the synth in it. It's a little monster! It definitely can sound different. Might be the filters or the routing options, but it's so cool!

One question: how do you save new presets? In Cubase I had to use the .fxp thing and the saved presets don't show up next time you open it.

One answer: talking about the glitches I experienced. It happened because the project was in 96 Khz sample rate, which the baby didn't like. Openining in a 44.1 Khz project solved the issue.

Hi leonard, while I don't use Cubase- I'd recommend that you create a directory specific to Filterbank2 and save your fxp's in that directory. this way, you can go back to that newly created directory to pull up all your FB2 programs to use in Cubase. Cubase should have a way for you to search for fxp's in more than one location... the exact steps for this process, I'm not sure...but there certainly should be a way to do this. All the hosts I use allow you to do so.

glad you sorted out the glitches ;) FB2 is a really nice and aggressive sounding filter isn't it? 8) Some may differ from my opinion, but I like Bifilter and Filterbank2 nearly as much as the ohmies stuff and FB2 is a lot easier to program than quad fromhmage!
