Polyphonic Voice Limiter/Controller

I need to get control of the amount polyphonic midi voices in my software sampler (Vsampler 3.51).. Im able to control it manually but unfortunatly there seems to be no CC control for this (or maybe I dont know what the cc# is).. Is there a plugin that would allow me to control/automate this?? Almost like one of those NICFIT or NDC plugins..
http://asseca-pt.net/nicfit/index.html or plugins
http://www.niallmoody.com/ndcplugs/ndcmidi.htm
One that comes close is NDC ChannelDrive.
http://asseca-pt.net/nicfit/ndc_ch_drive.html
It allows you to control the poly amount (lower lef hand corner).
The problem is that it doesnt have an OMNI out mode and I cant work with the channels automatically changing per note.
Let me know if there is anything like this out there..!

Just a thought... Can you run several instances of VSampler with the poliphony (manually) set differently?

I can't think of many uses to have to change this parameter, but did come up with some:
* hihats: open and closed should mute each other. In general you'd set them in the same "mute group" so that should be taken care of.
* instruments with portamento, alternating playing chords and melody.
What do you use it for, LaGrange??

C00kie..
the fact that there is not many uses for this probably explains why finding a plugin is probably out of the question.. basically I want control this to add live variation to my sequences.. It just livens it up more especially on break downs and fills.. maybe I should be looking at a soft sampler with control over more parameters instead of a plugin?? I dunno maybe I will just have to use the several instances method instead..

What exactly is the purpose of it (in technical terms) ?
Do you want to limit the midi notes that are passed to your VSTi at the same time ?
And if so, if there are more notes arriving, do you want to automatically "kill" one of the notes currently playing or only to stop new notes arriving to the synth if the limit is reached ?

As long as there is at least one use, it's not useless at all!
Does your host support Midi Learn for all VSTi parameters? Even when the CC# is undocumented, the Midi Learn facility should get you access to the GUI widget through your midi controller. At least, in theory...
Otherwise you could try contacting SpeedSoft/Maz-Sound about this. You've paid good money, and if it's a decent company/developer they'd welcome productive user feedback like yours.
Edit: this may be what you're looking for: http://www.maz-sound.com/index.php?show ... page_id=16
I don't have the V-Sampler, so can't see weather Poliphony Limit can be controlled by midi...

Yes I'm able to automate most parameters normally except the ones that make a real difference to my sound (individuality speaking).. Unfortunatly I did not realize that Maz/Speedsoft had such poor support b4 I purchased (dayum*) or I would have probably went with Halion or Kontakt... But I'm not too sure if either of those support automation of Global Poly Voices... A friend just told me that Vsampler that comes bundled with Sonar has ever parameter listed internally as to give total control. I guess Im going to have to shell out more buks on yet another softsampler package.. In the meantime heres a live example of what Im looking to automate.. I messed with the polyvoices @ the start. all channels are dry except the rhodes.. Listen to how it gains momentum!!!

Maybe there is some plug that would allow me the same ctrl... I mean it would be a OMNI MIDI thru with a simple poly throttle!! I WISH I COULD CODE IT...

2. Yes and individually also.
3. Automatically "kill"

If I cant find a plugin I guess I will try halion allthough I havent used it in years 1 of the 1st thing I noticed was better support for parameter automation...

Even this sampler has the ablity to automate the parameter, you can see the option for "voices" at the bottom right under GLIDE... what a pain this is...
