Apparently the KVR User "LiquidClear" has taken it upon himself to archive and make downloadable nearly every DarkWare VST that ever existed, well beyond the 10 DarkWare plugs I can still host due to that "auction thing".

"Officially" I can't support this, but for everyone who ever missed Roboticize, Vectrave, Mr. Mutilator, and many, many other legacy DarkWare plugs, you can get them at LiquidClear's "Dark Sepulchre" page here.

I was quite surprised.

Since you bring it up, Jack, what exactly did Mr. Mutilator do? I love, love, loved the GUI, but never could get it to do anything for me.

Post

It was a combination of 5 different distortion fx routed through five different audio signals each represented by the little puzzle pieces... moving the puzzle pieces around affected all 5 distortion fx in different ways... all were related to eachother as such... "duality of distortion". Sleep deprivation and shit.

Dubbyah -

1. SIDboy because even though it wasn't modeled after the architecture of the actual SID chip design, it does sound like a SID at times... IMHO.

2. Vectrave - Totally ignored upon its release, horrible on the CPU, but a 100% unique sound... SOPHIA is the only other synth I know of that sounds even remotely like Vectrave.

3. DarKoder - Because it's a totally underrated alternative vocoding device.

4. Roboticize - Because it's fun. It's what I thought Metal Mickey would of sounded like in the first place.

5. Hypnotastic - Because no one ever gave a damn about that one, but it's quite useful for just staring into and zoning out while you try to think of the next part for your song. :D

man, f**k!

Vectrave is AMAZING

wowww is all I can say

For such a small number of parameters you can get very very timbrally complex sounds.

Are you a fan of Insert Piz Here stuff?

Mr Alias and Junkmaster are great, and really really fun to play. They sound very very organic, and are some of the most expressive/fun synths i've ever used. Particularly because the pitch bend wheel does very odd things! What do you think about them?

I've had Hypnotastic just swirling happily on my screen here at my cafe
and whenever I come in from smoking people are just standing there staring at it.
I like to think of it as my human flytrap.

What, did you see perky the non-pg one?
I can see why you would say that.

Piz I belive is a different style although noise is the goal, darkware was towards a drker side of sound where piz I believe is the Jerry springer type of vsti

Dubbyah - Yes, I am a long time fan of Insert Piz Here VST. They are wrongtastical to the max. I always wished he would of made a few FX to go with his truly unique synthesizers. Very funny, very smart guy though.

Runagate - "I like to think of it as my human flytrap." Once again I have to get a new keyboard due to the coffee you made me spit out of my mouth. I hope you're proud of yourself.

Bill Fusion - I agree 100% with what you said. I've gotten a lot of PM's and emails asking if I'll ever make DarkWare stuff again. At the time I had no idea it was so popular. So, after I finish the NOVUZEIT stuff (7 more VST to go), in 2007 I will make a few more plugs that shall we say won't fall under the NOVUZEIT name and won't cost $$$ at all. And will make DarkWare look like Hello Kitty in comparison.
