What are some cool VSTs for effects

Hello, first I want to say thanks to everyone for their advice so far. I am still learning how to use FL Studio, and was wondering if there is a free VST that makes a cool effect on a voice sample I have. I am already using the delay effect in FL Studio, and was hoping to find another VST effect that would make the voice sound cooler. Please let me know which effects you would recommend for this. Thanks

You could try an eq with a radio like preset at some parts, maybe a bit chorus. Just experiment with what you have, Fruity Loops has also a vocoder you could try.

Yeah, I want to throw in a big "Thank you!!" as well for Glitch. Just recently discovered it, and used it for my exam in a Music Technology course I've taken this spring. Awesome effect! Still waiting for my results...
I noticed that you, dblue, has visited Trondheim from the photos on your site. Pretty cool since I'm currently studying at the university there. Let me know if you're in the neighbourhood, and I'll buy you a beer

I'm curious to know how you've used Glitch in your exam. Did you have to write a song or something like that? Either way I'd love to hear anything you've created with it if that's possible.
As for Trondheim, I've actually been living here since November 2005. It'd be cool to meet up for a drink sometime, for sure. Send me a PM or something and we can figure it out.

Thanks I am loing dblue, but I have a question. Is there a way to keep it sounding the same every time it is ran? Because it seems to play differently every time I listen to my track. I tweaked it the way I wanted, and when I listen to it a few times, it either sounds extremely cool or really weird. I would like to keep it sounding cool every time, is there a setting to keep it that way? Thanks

It's a little tricky to explain but essentially the randomisation is based mainly on the current time/position within your song.newtoFL wrote:Thanks I am loing dblue, but I have a question. Is there a way to keep it sounding the same every time it is ran?
If you create a pattern in Glitch which uses nothing but randomly selected effects, it's going to give you different results every time the pattern repeats itself over the duration of your song, but, the results should always be the same at those specific points in time in your song. For example, if your song is currently at 2:05 and Glitch plays "retrigger, crusher, stretcher", it should always play that specific sequence at that point in time. So it is random but it also predictable, and each time you render your whole song you should get identical results.
If you want more exact control over things you can simply program your own sequences manually and then automate the pattern changes within Glitch.

Thanks, ah being new to FL Studio sucks
Yeah I have dblue triggered at 1:21 part of my song and ends at 1:28. I will see if I can make it do what you say. Thanks again.

It's actually a bit weird using Glitch in FLStudio cause when you're playing around and testing things you're usually running FLStudio in Pattern mode rather than Song mode, but when you use Pattern mode it's actually telling Glitch to repeat the same period of time over and over again. Since the randomisation in Glitch is strongly based on the time within your song, that's why you hear the same sequence of effects over and over again. It can be a little confusing at first, especially when you finally switch to Song mode and wonder why everything sounds different!
Anyway, hope it works out for you in the end
