I recently purchased a Virus TI and decided it wasn't really worth the cost, so I returned it... However, the part that I liked best about it was the distortion section. I've never heard such blazing digital distortions before - everything out there seems to want to emulate tube distortions, but my personal taste is more acclimated to someting like the TC Fireworx algorithms (why did I ever sell that thing?). Also, the TI allowed you to select waveforms as distortion types. Does anyone know of any VST/RTAS plugins that can do similar sounds? Currently my favorite is iZoptope Trash - I couldn't live without that thing.

Also, what distortion waveshapers do you recommend? The only one I read about is Cyanide, but haven't tried it yet... And what is the difference between waveshaping and normal distorton anyways?
