my registered copy of PLParEq3 (for which I donated $20) won't let me choose a quality setting higher than 1 ("your registry variable is restricting you to QL1")
should i reinstall? or run Regedit?

I think there is a limit to quality with the free version, but can't remember how low (strikes me it was up to 5, with 6 and 7 reserved, but I might be adding more numbers than are really there).
But, are you sure you have the latest version? There was a thing where you got extra functionality if you registered in their database (beyond just donated, there was an email about it in the fall).
I can dig up the info for you later, or you could just send them an email asking.

Solved!
I just had to right click the Quality box to pick the MaxQL I want (up to 5) and restart PLParEQ3 (as explained in an old RAL mail letter).
Thanks!
