Drums on Demand headroom

I've recently auditioned, at a friend's house, Drums on Demand Vol. 3! They seemed pretty cool to me, specially the way they're organized in folders and the great amount of variation you can get with them! However they seemed to have very little headroom to add some reverb to your own taste! Is it just me or can you somehow "remove" this?

Just lower the volume on the track the samples are playing on, or in the sampler you are using.
