making Colossus smaller

I am using my laptop as a VSTi for live playing. I mainly use piano and organ sounds.
I already have other VST pianos which takes up a good amount of space, so I don't quite have 40 GB left to install the entire Colossus.

Do you know which sample files contatin the Fazioli and Steinway B sounds, and Hammond organs? My plan is to just copy those files over to my laptop to save space.

I am currently using external firewire harddrive, so I can use Colossus, but I am tired of dealing multiple wires and power supplies. I just want my laptop and the midi controller only for live.

Tough one this.

You could buy Kontakt and take out the specific nki files with you to play on your laptop.

Maybe the Kontakt Player, which is cheaper, would also do this (dunno, only got Kontakt)

For the record, Steinway B is in 15.nks and 16.nks, while both the the Faziolis are in 16.nks, 17.nks and 18.nks

I tried using exsc to get into the Colossus files, but exsc won't read .nks files.

I also tried using Kontakt to read .nks as source file to try and isolate the relevant samples and import then as .nki files - which exsc could then read and convert to a more universal format than Colossus' .nks

But no luck. Sorry.

However, I did discover two things:

1 - it's great owning Kontakt as well as Colossus - get it if you can.

2 - The Fazioli piano is really nice - so thanx for the heads-up
