Looking for a general-purpose perc library for a tweakhead.

Hey, I'm tired of Reason's sample library, I'm tired of Reason in general, tired of it and its refills... anyway, are there any libraries out there made for those of us who like to tweak and layer samples, send them through effects, etc.? One that possibly doesn't organize by genre but by instrument? A library with lightly-processed samples? Lots of hats, lots of cymbals, lots of snares, kicks (and not trance-kicks, they are easy enough to create), rimshots, hand percussion, etc. etc.? And I'm not talking about velocity layers or any of that, just single hit samples, good for ambience, drumNbass, and general electronica and newage.

? I'm surprised no one has responded. Probably because you all have Guru or Battery which comes with loads of samples... or RMX

I know exactly the type of thing you mean and want, I started SampleStream initially with the intention of supply of samples specifically for 'teakheads' with the first pack the zoned cymbal set - each cymbal labelled and divided into zones from the bell to the edge of the cymbal - each cymbal hit in each zone (not just a few waves - but lots upto 24 bit 96 kHz - this meant 'tweakheads' could select the samples they wanted to use. Its unfortunate but only a couple of guys tweaked onto the benefit of this set and I decided to abandon the project totally in favour of following a more mainstream approach - so the zoned project was discontinued - and that drastically alters the amount of samples to a few for each instrument.Architeuthis wrote:Naa, im looking for waves, lots of waves... lots of organized waves... and not a few free ones either... lots... and not in a sampler format.
I was going to do the zoned approach not just for cymbals but also toms, kick, snares - different shell types, stick types etc. too big a project to mess about with for just a couple of artists though I am sorry to say.
I don't actually know of any other sample provider doing it, but I know why now, tweakheads are very very rare

Wow, that's overboard man. I would only like a few samples per instrument actually.

Check out Doru Malaia's products at http://www.dorumalaia2.com/
Doru has passed away, but his wife/friends are still selling the libraries.

Once again I find Dorumalaia's samples to sound like lots of random junk without any sense of good organization or sample quality. Most of the percussion is too heavily tweaked and distorted already.

Wait wait wait... I know how to explain exactly what I want. You know that "xclusive drums-sorted page" in Reason Factory Bank? It's under "Rerrum Drum Kits" folder. It's got Glitch, Fx, Toms, Percussion-Other, Percussion-Hi, Cymbals, HiHats, Claps, Rimshots, SnareDrums, and BassDrums, all nicely organized and high quality samples. THERE'S TWO VERY WRONG THINGS WITH THIS THOUGH! And I want to solve these problems with a large open library:
Problem #1: It's in a refill, I CANNOT ACCESS THEM EXCEPT WITHIN REASON (no pun intended)
Problem #2: I want more! MORE!!! MOOOOOREEEE!!!! But hey, it wouldn't be too bad to have all the waves within the refill accessable. That would be sweet. But then I still want more anyway!
