VSL is as dry as it gets.Doesn't really have a future on Kontakt though, except for Opus maybe.
With EWQLSO i think you only get the dry samples with Platinum.
Sonic Implants SC is stunning but with a tiny bit of ambience and only the Strings are available for Kontakt.
Kirk Hunter has dry and ambient stuff, but as great as it sounds it seems pretty mixed up and badly organized. The Price is great though.
GPO is Kontakt only, cheap, is somewhat dry recorded and has interesting programming.
The only dry sounding choirs i know is the very old Siedlaczek Choirs, recently bundled with his other stuff for Kontakt.

My recommendation for Strings would be Sonic Implants, for orchestral brass sections SAM.For simple background choirs the Siedlaczek Choirs might actually do it.

Edit:
Forgot the most obvious, upgrade to K2.I don't have it so i don't know about the exact samples included.
But i often heard it is a very good basic package.

The K2 upgrade has a large selection of dry-as-a-bone VSL samples. Sounds like the ideal solution to me.
Music with dinner is an insult both to the cook and the violinist.

advanced orchestra might been an option, too. now you get it pretty cheap as a part of siedlacek complete from bestservice (should be around 250). a very good value for money

I agree with griels. If you already have Kontakt, then the upgrade would be the best solution. You would get a pretty large library from the VSL library(although FAR from complete) that will give you everything you need. Over 7GB of VSL samples are there. So it makes sense.

Also, GPO is good, not sure if they are super dry or not. And it has it's own built in sampler so it wouldn't matter what sampler. Besides, if you did use another sampler, they load into Kontakt anyways.

I'd say that those two choices will be the cheapest, and best solutions.
