I am looking for a plugin that would pan the incoming signal, but not in "tempo-sync" like many does, but it would swap panning each time a note is played (or an audio signal is heard).
I think we could call such a plugin : "trigger pan"..
Does it already exist ?

It's called Oli Larkin's "Basis Pan" :)

BasisPan is no longer avaiable on Oli Larkin's site but you can download it here:

... but it neezds midi to work properly...
I was thinking of a audio only plugin, working with a threshold above/below which one it would swap panning.

Poly-AnaFX (the fx version of the Poly-Ana synth) will be able to do exactly that. (But it's not done yet. Will be soon though.)

Not so much in a trigger approach (though there's some stuff I should think about there) but by using it's envelope follower to modulate pan position.

Yes, thank you Admuiral quality, but i really would like to feed any audio source into such a plugin, and i think Poly-Ana is a synth...

He said Poly-AnaFX, the FX version of the synth. Please read properly next time.

This could be something I could write in Max/MSP though.

It will come in synth and effect versions. Just like many other high-end VA soft-synths do.

It's STILL a synth, still creates a MIDI destination that you can play, but you can mix in an external input as well. Just appears as an insert to the host instead of an instrument. (The distinction is almost not there at all, just the VST spec forcing us to make it. This also forces us to provide two different versions of the plug-in .DLL if you want it to be an instrument AND and effect. :( )

Good news, eh? :D

Elevayta Wider Boy Pro has exactly this functionality.

"MIDI Sync" option enables "Note-On" control of High and Bass pan.
"Bounce Mode" provides 4 different "Midi Sync" modes for "Stereo-Basis" panning:
Bounce High Only.
Bounce Bass Only.
Bass and High in-phase.
Bass and High anti-phase.
"Bounce Slope" for complete control of Midi transitions in "Bounce Mode" (prevents audio clicks).
