Cubase - Monitoring Input

I'm running a guitar DI and using VSTs from there. If I want to monitor it I have to click on the little speaker button and if I want to play it back I have to click on it again. Is there a way to avoid this? I want to be able to record my guitar, rewind and play. I don't have a desk atm and it's difficult to use the mouse a lot.

Go To File -> Preferences -> VST, and the first tab is Auto Monitoring. At the moment you have it set to manual, which is why you have to click the speaker on and off to enable/disable Monitoring. You can set it to old Tape Machine Sytle where Monitoring is on during Stop and Record, but off in Playback, as well as other configurations.
