Hello,

1. Is there a list of which MFX work or do not work in Cubase SX3.1. I understand Rhythm'n Chords by Musiclab does not work in Cubase.

2. If the MFX appears in the Plugin Information > Midi Plugins list does it mean it is registered and should work fine?

3. Is there a way to check the C:\Windows\system32\regsvr32.exe to check if an MFX was registered so to avoid registering it a second time?

Yes I have inserted the MFX wrapper in the components folder.
Your help will be greatly appreciated  :) :!:

Oh man, the last time I tried 3rd party MIDI plugins in Cubase, BSOD. I had to give up on that.

Post

same here.

I've tried them all and cubase does not seem to like it. I think that is something they should of fixed in sx2.
what the #@*!

Please post which MFX so that I do not waist my time on them. I always assume it is something that I am doing wrong in MFX, VST or any program to make them malfunction. So I will spend days troubleshooting.

I hear that mine tend to work (don't know personally: I use SONAR), though one user had an issue with loading a project saved with an MFX in place.

Yeah, OK...well, I'm not going to waste my time enumerating them for you. They don't work. Steinberg no longer offers the MFX Wrapper for download, so I think they're not interested in developing it any longer. A Google search reveals all the information you need to know.

I use Music Labs' SlicyDrummer/FillinDrummer in Cubase 3.1 with no problems. Seems to work fine here.

I use the Drummer bundle and ERA with no troubles whatsoever in SX3 plus the Ntonix MFX KITS stuff. But Rythm&Chords never worked for me on cubase. It's the ONLY thing I miss from my old Cakewalk days.

I head read the MFX work better in Sonar, but I have Cubase.

Baxter thanks for the Music Labs' SlicyDrummer/FillinDrummer Ok. Thanks also to Vkingo.

Post

Post

Peel,

All the above MFX work in Cubase SX 3.1?
PITA means problems with the registration?

Post

Could you please post some the troublesome MFX
and the version of Cubase.

Oh man, I can't remember...it was the midiplugins.com plugs, I was trying to use a realtime plugin to group a bunch of notes to one note. I really can't help with specifics. This was with Cubase SX 2.2

Post

bduffy,

So I assume that you are not using any third party MFX in Cubase?
You tried several but had zero luck? Did you properly register the
MFX and troubleshoot and still no luck?

Too bad as the good mfx for some one like myself that likes to
experiment it will be a useful tool.

I would be nice to complete the MFX list for everyone's sake so people
do not waist time trying to do the impossible.
