audiomulch plugin scan problem

anyone know how to track down which plugin is causing problems when a host scans the vst folder.audiomulch is just crashing without telling me which plugin it is having trouble with.

Don't know but if your plugins are devided to folders then try to move each time a folder and when you'll know which folder fault it is it will be much easier to track the faulty plugin

yeah,but i've got hundreds of em,i was hoping for a more hightech solution. 
i've contacted ross,so i'll have to wait i guess.

Weird. Of all the hosts I have (and I have a lot) Audiomulch is one of the few that has never done that to me. Does scanning crash any other host? Some give pretty good reports/feedback on these kinds of things (Live lets you see which plugin is being scanned, Bidule gives you a log file).

it did it once before with the 'magic badger'. 
ext isn't crashing and tunafish didn't crash.
i've just ported across all my old vst from my 98 machine,so it's gonna be a long haul.

not really helpful to you at all but i use magic badger in audiomulch from time to time and it's not crashed for me.spacedad wrote:it did it once before with the 'magic badger'.

i had a similar problem with a different plug a while ago (whose name escapes me) and had to go about rectifying it the long way.

ok i've been through the whole thing adding plugin folders from 'a' to 't' then it started freezing again,at first i thought it was a rogue plugin in the 't's,so i tried putting just the 't'-'z' in,and hey presto!
so it seems there must be a size limit.at about 7GM, i reckon.
can anyone verify?
what about other hosts? do they have size limits?
(i've emailed ross,attempted to post 2 messages in the mulch-disscuss group,but they don't show up! i never seem to get messages in to those ya-bloody-hoo groups!

in case anyone is interested,ross said 7.7GB 'could cause memory problems' and he's put it on his bug list. 
(oh,and the yahoo prob was cos it was my first post(a sort of anti-spam device)and i should be able to post ok now. )
