hi all,
i remember that there was an effect where you could play a normal drumloop and this plugin transformed it to a TR 808 -like drumloop. anyone knows how its called?

what's a normal drum loop ?
there are plenty of tr808 samples on the net though. triggering drum samples from an audio loop is difficult and takes quite a lot of work. far easier to resequence the loop and use the 808 samples.
if you really want to trigger new samples from an existing drum loop i suggest you use ktdrumtrigger, takes a lot of work to set up properly and without extensive use of filter/eq before you send the audio to ktdrumtrigger you will always get fairly iffy results.

Best way Ive found to do that is use Phatmatik to slice up the loop, drop the MIDI into my host, and use that to trigger new samples in something like DR008.there are plenty of tr808 samples on the net though. triggering drum samples from an audio loop is difficult and takes quite a lot of work. far easier to resequence the loop and use the 808 samples.
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

i was going to add that normal barely ever uses drums but figured that might come across as a bit arsey.whyterabbyt wrote:Heheheheblaster78 wrote:what's a normal drum loop ?
slicing and replacing is another good suggestion.

sorry for having overread your question.
i wrote it in a hurry. a normal drumloop = acoustic one.
for a deeper understanding:
i have a drumloop with rather acoustic components (processed like hell, so not really acoustic) but i want it to sound analogue.
thats what i want to do

No. But in case you're going to do these things more often, it's a good idea to get some slicer in any case. Fwiw, ConcreteFX' MicroDicer is a pretty nice (and cheaper) alternative to Phatmatik.Stevie1 wrote: quite good idea. are there any freeware replacements for phatmatik?
There are 3 kinds of people:
