I posted my problems with ManyStation in the Tracktion forum originally, but I'm thinking I might find my solution here. This is a link to that thread:

) here's a quick run down of my situation. Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Last week, I joined the group buy and bought ManyStation, ManyGuitar and the UBK sound set. Let me just say they are freakin' AWESOME!!!! There was no way I could let this deal pass me by and I actually feel bad for getting all of these for such a low price. I downloaded and installed all of them and made sure they all worked in T2 (that's Tracktion 2 if you're not familiar). I created a blank project to do this and saved a single instance of ManyStation with nothing else. The next day, I went to add a second instance of ManyStation and I couldn't get any sound from this one, but the first ManyStation instance still worked perfectly. My keyboard input meter was working but there was no activity from the track level meter or in the master layer in the "bad" ManyStation and the master level meter in T2 wasn't working either. ManyGuitar works great, even with multiple instances. I created a new project with one instance of ManyStation; same problem. I'm stumped and hope there's something small I overlooked. Any ideas people?

This is the first i have heard of this.
I would highly suggest this first: Be sure you have the latest drivers for your soundcard and perhaps even the latest Tracktion version. Also try a full install of ManyStation again perhaps as i read in the other thread that you had some scan troubles with the Tracktion vsti scanner.

But ...most troubles lately have been related to outdated soundcard drivers.
Just a few things anyways to try first.

Also ...Is your first instance of ManyStation set up multi-timbral on the config page? Maybe that could cause a second instance to be confused by the midi channel?

Thanks for the quick reply!!! I can't do anything at the moment (at work), but tonight I'm going to check out my soundcard drivers (Audiophile 2496) and if that doesn't work do the install of ManyStation again.

Could you walk me through a clean uninstall/re-install process for ManyStation? What can stay and what needs to go? I've got the newbie jitters when it comes to this kind of stuff

Try the other things first as your install is probably fine as you have 1 instance working ....so i think it is another part of your system.

Well, I updated the Audiophile 2496 drivers and nothing changed. I'm now on the fence about either uninstalling ManyStation or updating T2. I guess I'll try the T2 update first.

I don't know if this will give any more insight into my problem, but I noticed that the master layer on the "bad" ManyStations automatically come up with all volume faders at zero. The "bad" ones also have -48 and -1 in the tune and fine amounts (respectively) of all the layers and the pan knobs are turned fully anti-clockwise. This is all different from the "good" instance.

The update to T2 didn't fix the problem, so I'm down to the final step: unistall/re-install of ManyStation. Can anyone give me the process for doing this? Can I just delete the .dll from my plugins folder and re-install from my back-up CD? Or do I need to go the "add/remove program" route? I hope this will finally fix it so I can get down to making music again

What is the version of Manystation, 1 or 2? Can you check the ABOUT box for the exact version number?

P.S. - I love your tunes on wusik.com, expecially those soothing new age pieces. Pure relaxation zone for me

Hey, thanks.

I still have to check what's going on. Do you have only Manystation or something else too? The strange thing is that several users got Wusikstation V2.2.4 and use with Tracktion without problems.

I bought ManyStation in the recent group buy and also got ManyGuitar and the UBK soundset. Both of those are working fine (no problems with multiple instances of ManyGuitar). Other than the included T2 plugins, I only have a few freeware synths (ASynth, Augur, polyIblit, SuperwaveP8) in my arsenal.

I don't have T2, only T1, not sure what happened, but I did request a T2 NFR copy from mackie, I guess they never replied to my request.

Anyway, this week I won't be able to test this out, only next week. Sorry for the delay, hope you understand.

That's fine. I can wait. I don't have much time during the week for making music so waiting a few more days is no problem for me. It's not like I have a pro studio with clients waiting for me or something
