Hello,

we decided to release the next version 1.5 of the Electri-Q today. The changes are:

NEW Features:
  • - phase reduced filters introduced
    - linear phase mode
    - many new filter types (80+)
    - minor bugfixes
    - GUI improved (faster)
    - manual enhanced
    - filter change bug fixed
    - maximum phase mode *WORLD INNOVATION*
  • The "Maximum Phase" mode is like the "Linear Phase" mode, but instead of having a linear phase, it has maximum phase. With this, the whole filter is preringing only. So a techno bass might turn from "boom" into a "whoop". If you now take into acount, that loudspeakers (especially sub-woofers) are minimum-phase, these effects will compensate each other. At least in theory...
The demo will work 5 minutes, after that the GUI is blocked.

Here's the complete product description again (see http://www.aixcoustic.com/index.php/Electri-Q/13/0/):

Image
'Electri-Q' 1.5 is a simple, intuitive, but powerful minimum phase EQ, which makes it very easy to adjust the magnitude of any audio material. Due to its flexibility, it can be used on every track or even as a mastering equalizer.
The plugin offers two different algorithms. The algorithm 'Analog' was modelled on a transistor based circuit of a real analog EQ. On the other hand 'Digital' is a pure and neutral digital EQ without any coloration. 'Electri-Q' 1.5 has up to 64 bands and offers several filter types.
It comes as native Windows VST Plugin or as WinAmp plugin

Features:
  • - intuitive GUI
    - up to 64 bands
    - two basic algorithms ('Digital' and 'Analog')
    - additional algorithms ('Scream', 'Linear Phase' and 'Maximum Phase')
    - 64-bit Assembler optimized
    - Economy Mode for less CPU Usage
    - all basic filter types (Peak, HighShelf, LowShelf, Highpass, Lowpass, Bandpass, Notch)
    - 80+ special filters
    - Mono/Stereo (linked)
    - Draw Filter Curve Estimation
    - exact edit of frequency, gain, bandwidth
    - neatless Add/Delete of a band
    - Psychoacoustical Spectrum Analyser
    - customisable Default
    - A|B compare
    - import/export posihfopit presets
    - 72 Presets
'Electri-Q' 1.5 will be shipped with more than 50 presets. These will cover all instruments and genres. Additional you will receive 3 separate licences to use Electri-Q, in both versions, on up to 3 different computers.

The demo will work 5 minutes, after that the GUI is blocked. (I added that to the above description)

Maybe I should do an Ableton workaround/fix. It is basically a problem of Ableton. I thought it has been fixed, but obviously not.

Kind regards,

Christian

Yeah, Live occasionally has problems with selected plug ins - shame.
I'd still reccomend anyone using any other sequencer to grab this though - if it builds on posifhopits strengths, it's gonna be the dogs nads :D

I've just reported the problem to ableton. Let's hope the problem is solved soon!

Best,

Christian

christian,

i have some probs in sx3.1.1:

-electri-q steals keyboard from host, so i cant stop and start playback with eq open.
-analyser doesnt seem to work
-right click auto filter doesnt always work, esp in lin/max phase modes.

also any plans to add a steeper high pass? like 24db or 36db? currently i think its about 18db isnt it?

We have put all those items on our bug list. The fact that the analyser doesn't work is because i accidently disabled it. Maybe the "right click auto filter" has the same simple explanation.
The keyboard stealing bug is already on our list since some time ago. Unfortunately Steinberg won't give NFR versions out for testing. That way we can only guess. But I will have a closer look this weekend.

Best regards,

Christian

Hm... Works fine here. Cubase and FL studio. Dunno. Anyway i remember that Aleksey from Voxengo had same problems with cubase (about stealing keys) so you can ask him maybe. Just advice.
