Drum problem in Acid 6.0

I have an odd problem in Acid Pro 6:

I'm using a Yamaha DTXplorer drum kit to input midi tracks, and it is working fairly well EXCEPT...

I can't seem to get it to record and playback properly - for the snare and kick drum.

The midi notes that the drumset brain outputs are set to 31(G2 - snare) and 33 (A2 - kick), these are not re-assignable at the hardware level (in the brain). Gen Midi standard has these notes at 36 (C3 - kick) and 38 (D3 - snare). What I can't figure out ... is any way to get these notes to record and playback properly.

The only potential solution I have thought of so far is to build custom sound fonts (sound card is a Creative SB Audigy 4) and make sure the corresponding drums are reset to the other midi notes. But that's a pain in the a$$, and I'd rather find another way around this if I can. Does anyone out there have any idea on how to fix this?

This has been a serious pain. I would greatly appreciate any help or advice...
