recording in cubasis

this is my first posting
i am new to cubasis and i can't record any vsti's, i have to input notes on piano roll, how can i select record enable as i can't find it anywhere
i am using cubasis vst5
surely it is possible with this software

do you want to record midi from your midi keyboard or the audio output of a vsti ??
