First of all, hi to everybody here. Apparently I'm a newbie around here and I hope I'm going about this the correct way.

I am having a hard time getting BFD to cooperate with an Alesis D4 in Sonar 5 XL Producer edition. The drums aren't so much of a problem as the HI HAT.
This is my first time using a drum plugin. I've used drum CD's from Big Fish Audio and had some success with them. Now I've got a real drummer with MIDI drums and the Hi Hat sounds terrible.
Does anybody have any experience with this kind of problem? Don't get too technical, I'm just the songwriter in this project.
