I was considering using camelphat3 for my main compressor, and voxengo's Gliss EQ for my main EQ.

No, in my view. Both very nice specialized effects, not go-to stuff you'd want on every track.
Grist for the glamour mill.

What would U reccomend? (I was considering 'Waves Musician's bundle II' w/the renesance compressors and EQs)

what would you reccomend for a 'bread and butter' compressor.
I like the approach of as few controls/simpler the better, when it comes to compressors, I was going to get the musician's bundle just for the compressors. Any ideas?

i'd jump on the electriQ boat ...
hard to beat as a goto track eq .... if u chime in there's a group buy 49€ .... till tomorrow --- lotsa options - but you'll get great quality --- really a nobrainer --- get the demo it's fully functional --- don't forget to extensively use the right mouse button
that means really take a look at the manual...

Found it, it's ugly, but if it sounds good, and only uses about 4% of my CPU, per track (I have an athlon XP2200+ w/1.25GB ram)
I would get it over the waves bundle.
What would all of U reccomend for a "one knob" compressor?

Likewise, I'm curious to know why GlissEQ wouldn't be considered a go-to EQ.
A while back I tested GlissEQ and posifohpit with similar settings (economy, non-dynamic mode for gliss) and I could get many more GlissEQ instances running than posifohpit, which kinda surprised me.

Yeah - it's a marvelous little compressor - all of the fish phones stuff is great.jammer42777 wrote:looks great! (I'm @ work can't try it)

I believe the developer now works for samplitude - designing their compressors etc.
Personally I like it on kick drums especially, makes them fat & warm.
Definately worth a try.

Here's my small studio setup (give or take, it depends on the material but in general):
vocals = voxformer
track to track eq= gliss eq
most tracks = GAC1
blockfish is awesome for mostly anything, but i use voxformer for vocals, makes them ultra presence
