Hi people,
Ive just installed Kirk Hunter Emerald Orchestra. I then updated my Kontakt2 Database. When I try to load an instrument it says it can't find the samples and I have to do a search to find them every time! It says something about the assumed location of these samples being in another directory on another drive of mine?
Anyone now how i can fix this? can i change the default directory it looks in?
Cheers
Dave

Go into Options under Search/DB and you can specify extra folders that are included in the search. This doesn't solve the problem totally but it does speed up to loadings somewhat.
My company's Translator software (which K2 conversions were based from) has a Reference Manager function where you can update all the .nki files references so there are no bad references. You just run it once and everything is updated precisely.
Emerald has TONS of .nki's so ths may be a good option for you. www.chickensys.com

Better do a "rebuild" of the database rather than an "update". The latter is missing in the latest Kontakt version anyways.

Yeah - I wish they would fix that - its a pain having to rebuild just to add a few new patchesSascha Franck wrote:Better do a "rebuild" of the database rather than an "update". The latter is missing in the latest Kontakt version anyways.

Also, in Kontakt 2.1 there is a new "batch save" option, that can permanently change the sample references for a whole bunch of .nki files in one go. Very useful.

I wish there was an option to automatically add each new saved file to the database as well.
