When I load a midi sample (a drum pattern in this case) into Cubase, it automatically creates a new MIDI channel. Very annoying. I have Battery (plus a few effects) loaded into a channel and would rather have the sample import into there. I've tried highlighting the channel and importing to no avail.

I have Cubase LE, which came with my sound card, and this is the only issue preventing me from upgrading to a "real" version of Cubase.

I have looked and can't find a way to do this. Anyone know?

In SX3, you can drag and drop on to the track/time you want.
