I have Cubase SX3, and my wife uses Cubase SE (both are owned by our company). She wants to use it to export mp3 files, but she has to acquire a license to do that. Isn't it possible to transfer the license we have with SX3 to SE?

Isn't Cubase a bit over-the-top solution, just for MP3 encoding?? There are loads of other apps (for free!) that can do that once you have a WAV file.

Oh, are you also limited to 96 kbps ?

There are indeed other (even free?) solutions, but using Cubase SE to do it can offer certain advantages if you also, say, want to edit the file or process it (not that other software doesn't do that, too). The mp3 patch allows export in higher quality mp3 (I used that for my KvR cafe contest entries a lot) but I don't think you can transfer it - I recently changed computers and can't seem to register the mp3 patch on my new machine. It's only 10 euros, but still. Pity it isn't integrated into the sequencer.

She uses SE to make choir-arrangements, and she wants to export them to mp3. Otherwise it would indeed be over the top, as there's a converter built into XP...
