I just got the Uad 1 ultra pak and am really digging it. I am using it with samplitude 8.3
I am directing this to experienced users and was wondering which plug ins (compressors, e q. etc)
were your favorites and what settings do you like for what usage (vocal, guitar, drums). I record 60's influenced pop and modern "retro" garage and power pop. I know I will learn the most by trying out differnt plug ins and playing with the settings but it would save a lot of time and possibly help me to try things I never thought of. I would appriciate any input.
what are your faviorite plug ins in uad 1 card ultra pak

Fairchild & LA2A for voice compression (I use also Fairchild with gentle setting for the voice recording)
Pultec Pro & Cambridge for voice eq (Pultec for character enhancing, Cambridge as surgical tool)
Plate 140 for vocal rev (EMI studios uses a lot this rev in '60/'70 recordings: listen to Beatles & Pink Floyd i.e.)
also are interesting Roland Dimension D & RE 201 for vocal purpose (similar tools was used a lot 60th/70th)
The settings must be personalized for each situation... try to start with standard UAD presets.
