I just ordered the White Grand Jr and Harpsichord from the SampleTekk summer sale. These are excellent samples and well worth the price. I don't have Kontakt or Halion, but I was able to convert and get to work on the Wuiskstation (I have 2G of memory). I'm thinking about getting another sample set, but not sure which one. The rain piano looks interesting. Any recommendations on another good piano to purchase?
Thanks,

White Grand is close miced - bright and crystal clear in a mix. Black grand is warm and more suited to a classical or solo piano sound. The Rain and Vertikal pianos are uprights and have very different characters. I like them both a lot - Rain is just what doctor ordered for your Tom Waits Invitation to the Blues type of stuff. Vertikal Pop is a great piano IMO - works where a big grand is too heavy. You won't be sorry you own any of these.wildzeke wrote:I just ordered the White Grand Jr and Harpsichord from the SampleTekk summer sale. These are excellent samples and well worth the price. I have Black Grand too and love it's mellow warm sound.
As egbert says, it's great as a solo piano or in songs with sparse instrumentation, but will get rather lost in some songs though.
I have the Artsvista VGP for something that cuts through mix.
