Any complaints with Quantum Leap Hardcore Bass?

I may be ordering Quantum Leap Hardcore Bass tonight and I just wanted to see
if anyone who owned it had any complaints about it. It looks great for the
stuff I'm doing. I'll probably want to pick up a more "gentle" sounding bass
sound as well, but I really like what I've heard on the demos.

I bought Hardcore Bass more than a year ago. I'm a guitarist who thought he could save some money on equipment by going with a software solution, but the gold-standard - Trilogy - seemed too expensive at the time. I was not able to get the results from HB that you hear on the HB demos where it sounds convincing. Some meaningful documentation for a newbie would have been really helpful, but apparently QL must assume that everyone is already an expert at programming using their sample set. About a month ago I bought myself a Warwick Rock Bass for $500 and I couldn't be happier. For me it's been 10 times easier and far more efficient to just play bass and record direct. If you haven't made a decision yet but want to stick with a software solution, I would strongly suggest that you look into Trilogy and not HB.

Yellow Tools Majestic seems to be the best bass VSTi.
It comes with 16 GB of bass samples, and even an acoustic one perfectly suited for Jazz.
You can listen some demos here : http://www.yellowtools.us/cp21/cms/index.php?id=355

Hardcore Bass definitely requires some tweaking to achieve good results, so as an "out of the box" solution, it may not be ideal. While I'm happy with the overall sound and control -- a little practice with the velocity and key switching goes a long way! -- I find that I've been having some difficulty lately in getting a sound that cuts through the mix enough. I haven't tried the other bass libraries mentioned above, but HCB and HCBXP have definitely given my compression and EQ skills a workout
