FXPansion's GURU is the best in my view.

yes, but ...

... i think it's to complex for my needs
... i hope i don't need to spend over euro 200 :?

The going favourites under $100 round here seem to be (since this was asked recently):

DK+, Drumular and DR-008.

DK+ doesn't have synth modules as far as I remember.
Drumular doesn't have a step sequencer.
DR-008 has everything.

under $100 sounds great :D

i was looking for a DR-008 demo, but fxpansion dosent't have one!

@all: what do you think about DR-100? some pros and cons, if possible please!

i'm not shure it is waht you want, but i maynly use samples for drums, and i would get shortcircuit. it has nixe puch / dont loose punch so fast if you tune your sounds plus nice onboard effects.

in fact i'll buy it, if i'm not longer satisfied with the free version.

try the free version!

You can never go wrong with Battery, in my opinion. One of the best sounds drum machines out there.

What about µTonic?

Works well for me!

Post

@dasdeck: i give it a try! :)
@igor: battary was the first in my mind, but i like the DR-008 price a little more! :hihi:
@polyslax: i got µTonic, but i search for something that has more (sound)flexibilty!

Drumular is excellent, both drumsampler and drumsynth, at the correct price.
THe man who did it, andreas ersonn, has also made exccellent vsti.

For free, you can get the amazing Odo's DrFusion2, coming with more than 500 samples, layered sampleslots, user slots, and drumsynth modules !

Don't spend money until you're sure not to find what you need in the freeware domain : Microtonic, Battery are both excellent applications, but maybe that the drumsapler quadzamp, or loopazoid could suit your needs in the sampling domain (maybe also Majken's Twith?), or even Psychic modulation Optik, Drumatic in the drusmynth domain.

Have you given a try to SOnicFIre's (aka Prodyon) Randomax ?
Reasonable price, coming with hundreds of samples, random options, etc.

Yeah, I think the DR-008 demo expired permanently on New Year's Day. It's one of those things I've considered getting for years, but for some reason just never have. I think I always hoped it would get a slight interface revamp. Somethings feel like they were added on long after the main app had been designed, so the whole feel of the thing is kind of like rooting about through old boxes in the attic.

It really does have everything, though. I especially like things like its sequencer, and the pad grouping functions, even the way they've setup velocity response when using your mouse. Only trouble is that it may have too much, since the interface can get a little cluttered, and certain tasks aren't always completed in the most obvious way. It also comes with a whole pile of samples.
