I'm being treated to ear-shattering noise after about ten seconds of operation, then the sound stops.

Not the occasional brief drop-out or slight noise, but full throttle distortion. Had to rip my phones off.

The people at Prosonic seem to have found a very effective way of dissuading people from trying it out.

don't use it anymore then... To be honest, I don't think this is worth a thread

You should definitely let them know how you feel. I've found most developers are receptive to suggestions about demo restrictions.

It's a pretty serious warning to others, so why the hell shouldn't I post it?

Krank: Welcome to KVR support! :hihi: The problem with this thread is that for 1 Dynasone is not a new plugin, so the likely hood that the developer will make changes at this point is slim to none (in Prosoniqs case none).. Also just the fact that you are having problems with a DEMO restriction feature will turn most ppl(devs) off as there are probably newer, cheaper &or free alternatives that are either comparible or better.. Next you have to take into consideration, does DS actually work for you(other than the restriction)? If yes then the only logical suggestion would be to either purchase it or try to find a comparible product.

One positive note: because DS is so old you might be able to find it at a discounted price..

Good luck..

The 'problem' with this thread? Look, it's nice of you to try and explain, but I think you misunderstand my intention.

The demo is unusable, I'm merely warning others of the extreme noise so they don't make the mistake of trying it out with headphones or at any high volume.

As per my long winded explination, look at it like that you might get flamed for this post..

Again, you're off on the wrong track - in my original post I mention silence or slight noise as completely acceptable demo limitations.

But the question that first wandered to my mind was: WTF are you bitching for?

Anybody interpreting the initial post as you put it must be terribly obtuse/black&white, seems to me...

If the dynasone demo sends out a ear-shattering noise that forced him to rip of his headphones I don't see why people are slagging him off so..

Did you have your phones on really loud, or could the noise burst of the demo really cause damage?

Post

not terribly.. EXTREMELY is more like it!

Personally, I think you'd be better off taking the money and getting something more up-to-date, like the BuzComp bundle, Voxengo stuff, etc.

Unbearable even at moderate volume. Jesus, what were they thinking - there's absolutely no way to check out how this program works.

I didn't know that it's an abandoned product. In that case I guess there's no point writing their tech support.

Thanks - I've been looking for a good multiband compressor for some time, problem is I'm on a Mac so the selection is limited. I'm considering Ozone, but first I think I'll have a go at FinalPlug since I have Tracktion 2, which I haven't been using it as a sequencer at all. So far I've learned that all the presets are unusable.
