I don't know much about "mastering"...is there an almost-all-in-one mastering plug-ins that I can use in Logic Pro 7?

If you don't know much about mastering then I'd save the money you would have spent on the plugin and pay a mastering house instead. You'll get a far superior result for the same price.

I taked it for granted that you know how to use all this stuff and are just looking to excite/slap around what is already a well-mixed product...CamelSpace? It won't weave what look to be silver threads into gold, but it WILL do some weaving/exciting/slapping around...

For freebies, I recomend the "Stardust" plug-in. It has two compressors, a stereo widener and Bass/Treble enhancers built into it. Not bad sound for freeware if I do say so.

For really good mastering software at a decent price, I recommend voxengo.com. Alexey gives you 20 percent off your total purchase if you buy more than one item, so you can save some serious coin while getting plugs that, IMHO, seriously rival the Waves plugs. Do check out voxengo's Soniformer and CurveEQ. Those two plugs will accomplish your entire basic mastering setup.

Sidebar: why o why do good developers insist on making 'mastering' plugins? Almost everybody has their 'mastering suite.' Why not release a 'racecar' plugin? No amount of slapping plugins on the 2-buss is going to be like mastering, any more than a 'racecar' plugin would be like driving a racecar.

Everyone should have a good limiter thingy for giving demos to clients. Beyond that, you're just making things worse. If you can't afford mastering, unleash your music onto the world unmastered, not mis-mastered.

what you think is 'mis-mastered', might sound good to me.. If something makes my crap sound better, why not use it? I'm not in the need of a mastering engineer, I just want to beef up the tracks myself..

I do have a bit...but still not sure which "mastering" plug to use...that's just my problem.

"A good musician is knowing how to use his tools...not how many tools he/she has." I'm learning "how" to use these tools by playing with them everyday. Only that it sometimes don't sound "quite right"...I know it's very objective...but, it doesn't hurt to have a good "mastering" tool to help a little.

Maybe what I need is to find a site or a book or a video of somesort to "explain" and "teach" me how to "master"...maybe that's what I should do instead of buying a "mastering suite" for now.... Any suggestion in this area guys?
