Well, Musician's Friend sells this plug for $100. But this website says it's around ten pounds, or around there.

Is this for real? The only reason I'm looking is because I wouldn't mind having a multiband compressor to take on the road on my flash drive, and I can't take Tracktion2 with me to use Final Mix.
Also, if this is for real, has anyone used it? Is it any good? I've heard that it was, but that's only a couple of opinions. What about compared to Final Mix, which I love.
Thanks for any help guys.

I also can't find it on the akaipro.com website, which is where an old copy of CM said to look for it.

It's just odd that only that site has it for that price. Unless they are just liquidating it, and the other sites don't care. Usually Musician's Friend is pretty good. Maybe they will match prices, so then I can buy from a company I know!
It sounds like this comes in a box. Is that also true? Or download?

These are really old plugins that were discontinued a while ago. I see them in the bargain bins every fall at the music store here.

It's real, I ordered it some months ago, along with AKAI Pitchright, which has a similarly ridiculous price. I had a crisis of impulse buying. Shipping costs more than the two plugins together (almost), so it might not really be worth it. I was ardering some hardware, so I threw them in as well. They come on cd with a serial, and that's all. Not that I've ever used them, but for the money....
You can find multiband compressors even for free nowadays, so it might not be worth it. As for pitch correction and it's creative use (famous Cher effect etc), I suppose it can also be done for free. These are not going to be your indispensable tools. Still, you own a piece of history.

So does anyone think that the free stuff will be better then spending around $15 US and shipping?
I have heard alot of people rave about the gvst stuff, but haven't tried much of it. Is it really THAT good? Sorry, I'm stuck at work through the night and won't be home until morning, so I can't check it out right now.
Well, actually, I forgot that I have been building my flash drive studio! Never mind, I'll add them to the "mix"!
Now if I could only get Tracktion working on a flash drive. That would be great!

Thank you for your opinion. That's what I'm trying to find out, if it's even worth it at the reduced price. I'm guessing it won't even start to compare with Final Mix?

Ok, I think I just went in my pants. I got Tracktion working from my Flash drive! Well, I HOPE it's working. I'm just expirimenting. I had to "Ignore" the fact that it couldn't write to the registry, but so far it doesn't seem to be affecting anything.
I even inserted Final Mix into the Master out and heard everything just fine.
Now I'm just waiting for something to not work, since it couldn't write to the registry.

Well, so far I've tried to use plugs that were just a .dll file. Although others like Phrazor that had an install program seem to work perfectly. I just installed directly to the drive.
Any plugs in particular? If I can get them working on this system, I think you can get them working on ANY system. Let me know if there is a plug you want me to try.
I'm wondering if the registry entries for T2 were for file associations. Cause everything else seems to be working just perfect. Well, so far.
I actually have a thread for all that I have gotten working:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2013797
I'll update it as I test plugs. I'll keep testing whatever I can and let everyone know. Maybe it can become a sticky there or something if people are interested.

The price stated on the Thomann website is correct, I think it is a clearance sale for this product.
I bought my copy of Quad Comp some months before on Ebay , and use it as my mastering compressor. It works fine for this (my point of view is: If I do not notice there is a compressor working, then it does well). For this purpose, it does better than some freeware stuff I have tested, so 9,90 Euro is a bargain (shipped in a box with cd and registration number).
