Dang. My DeltaLab Super Time Line croaked last night. I will try to fix it, but I wonder if anyone has tried to model it (it's basically an effectron with 2 seconds delay) in a VST. It's a modulated delay line with a very crisp, crunchy tone...I used the flanger for vocals all the time.
I know there are a zillion free delay VST's... but are there any Effectron users out there who like one in particular?
VST closest to DeltaLab Effectron?

No deltalab user, but i have an echopro, and there is a modelled lo-fi digital unit, adn if i remmember well, the effectron is an old blue digital delay, might be 12bit ?
I have searched some months ago for a delay plugin where the sound woud get bitreduxed after each repetition, maybe that is also what you're after ?
I know audio damage has released such a plugin in a vst pack (but no demo), and maybe tone2 filterbank2 can do this...

I have been on AD's webpage, and it seems that the plugin pack got discontinued.. But there is a nice probability that their modular multiefx can reach such an effect.
PSP has also made a Lexicon emulation with a bitreduction thing, called xxx-84, or something like that.

Oh, and it's not an emulation of the Effectron by any means, but don't overlook RetroDelay. It's a really good free multieffect unit focused mostly on delay that can do some Effectron like FX.

PSP42 is definitely exactly the kind of thing I mean...the original Lexicon unit is from the same era as the Effectron. Expensive, though...

PSP84 is even more "big", with bitreduction to fit better in the early digital reverb paradigm, i think.
But these plugins are already 4 or 5 years old, i think (nothing wrong about that, BTW), and i would adsvise you to take a look at Audio damage stuuf : they are making a new plugin based on a Lexicon reverb, and i know they are a lot into that kind of sounds (lofi or old school reverbs with lofi but classy sound)...

Audio Damage's Deverb has a "bitrot" parameter in there, it might be able to achieve something similar too.

Funny, I have a DeltaLab Effectron Junior & never use it. What's the fuss about these lofi modules? The only interesting effect you can get out of it is it's never ending 'deep' & 'infinity' degrading delay effect you often hear on dub records.

Effectrons are expensive?!
My guistarist picked up an Effectron and an Effectron II for like 30$ USD last winter.
They're cool but they're no match for most freeware delays.

Look at this pic, roughly everything to the right of the keypad section is what you get.
I don't know what the Effectron sounds like, but the grimiest delay plugin I know of is ArcDev's ET-200. No modulation on it, though.

ET-200 can be linked up to that fractal midi lfo, though ! 
My bandmate who wons 2 effectrons says not to leave the loopy button thing turned on all the time and it'll spit out 8-bit goodness forever.
