Here is a short list of things that makes living with fl harder than it should be.
- intrument properties, del,hold,release... control in every plugin not only wave player.
- not only arp but chord feature
- shift, control, alt keys to switch between major, minor and so on in selected scale in arp/chord in design time(while creating)
- manual arpagiator/chord - sequence - using piano roll per instrument with channels of sequence controled, as above, using shift, control, alt and their combinations.
- drag'n'drop patterns in playlist like layers in photoshop.
- patterns, wave, automation lines in the same window in playlist - mixed column types.
- expandable groups in playlist like treeview
- same in pattern editor - one level grouping to You programmers to simplify coding - instead of groups now available.
- grouping some sequences of patters waves and automations in playlist into solid group (with ability to ungroup) that can be called (have caption) for clearity and ease of reuse like in other programs.
- special mixer channel for each pattern/group between the end of fx route of every instrument - sound of the instrument that plays in this track and the fx Master.
- with group mastering and grouping itself if would be very legible and easy to control this way made "tracks".
- the del, hold, release in two versions - pre and post - pre constrols each single sound and post the sequence made with (manual/automatic) arp/chord OR a layer with instrument control acting as the post control.

That would be all for now.

Do you have any other suggestions you feel FL lacks?

I'm sorry but I am mad. It is idiotic that they have yet to put a freeze option in FL Studio.

I agree with that one, tho its not useless, just tedious...

Jason, I just gotta say, that quote in your sig is the funniest thing I've ever heard. Have you a link to the original thread?

A way to, at the very least, see a really simple preview of the MIDI content for the blocks on the playlist.

I know it's "FL's way of doing things", but these grey blocks are ambiguous to the point of obscurity.

.. master channel (rendered channel) latency compensation is still missing. You render a 4 bar loop, have elephant in the channel, guess what? You do not get a perfect 4 bar loop. You get one with the plugins latency amount in silence, in the beginning of the loop and the exact same amount missing in the other end of the loop.

.. wow, how professional.

EDIT: there is a workaround, to never use the master channel as the true inteded purpose but rather use a "dummy master" where the final plugins are. Then just set the latency compensation there. However, this is a workaround and it would take maybe 5 minutes of additional coding for Gol to fix this issue (which has been present since the day FL studio began supporting VST effects). It's the main reason why Fruityloops never was able to render loops without clicks when using a final mastering limiter to controll the peaks.

EDIT2: The workaround actually doesn't work as FL Studio always delays stuff forward. Duh.. my bad, there simply is no workaround for this problem as the rendered pattern doesn't take any final latency into consideration. Huge flaw IMHO.

workarounds suck.

Actually, like noted above. The workaround doesn't work due to the way FL Studio renders. You always get an imperfect loop. Kind of ironic as Fruityloops started out as the perfect loop creation tool.
