pro tools 7 performance and midi

So I'm thinking about buying pro tools 7.0 m-powered. How much better is pro tool's midi implementation in comparison to pro tools 6, ableton live 5, and cubase sx 3? I don't need all the midi options that cubase has, and being able to import pro tools projects into my system would be a big +. Also how well does pro tools 7 perform compared to pro tools 6? I have a AMD XP 2000+ w/ 1GB ram. Live 5 chokes my cpu pretty quick in relation to cubase sx 3, where I can load up tons of vst's before I need to start freezing tracks.

Simply put, the midi in PT7 is about 1000 times better than in PT 6, additional MIDI functions were the main part of the update. Not really up to date in my knowledge of the current versions of Live and Cubase, but essentially PT has caught up to most other hosts in the MIDI area, where it was sorely lacking before. This can only get better with their purchase, this week, of Sibelius

Performance in PT7 is also way better , particularly if you have dual processor comps, which weren't supported before 7 (or was it 6?), but maybe wait for other posts on this from people who can make comparisons.
Not sure if you'll get lots of responses here, kVr threads with Protools mentioned in them tend to turn into trollfests, so if that happens ask some questions over at the Digidesign forums. One thing you may want to consider is that if you buy Mpowered you don't get the bundled versions of Live, Reason etc that come with standard Protools.
