Gigapulse is a convolution reverb with a mic modeling section with different mic sounds. it also lets you position your sound.You can read about it at the below link.

Maybe I'm missing the point, but isn't Mic Modeller basically a glorified EQ with presets designed to mimic the frequency responses of industry standard mics? What is the result you're aiming for?

there's more too it than that as i understand. weirdly it's based on the same algo's as autotune, and the underlying process is more akin to convolution than to straight-fowarded eq. think more focusrite liquid channel but for mics.

i guess a lot of the music journo's at the time didn't really understand the tech, so assumed it must be eq. i used it quite a bit before i had access to a good mic selection. obviously it can't recreate any missing detail, but it does well with the characters.

I paid $99 when it costed $249 i think,It was a hard to find deal then. but it seems lately much of tascam's software is being discounted.

Sorry gain for the OT, but is this only aimed at orchestra, or are there other impulses included (like rooms, etc), or can I load my own stuff? Cause this would be a cool alternative to stuff like Wizooverb W2, Altiverb, etc.

It has a very diverse library of impulses that suit all music needs, but you can't load .wav files in it, you can only use gigapulse proprietary file format. But gigapulses library is huge and pretty extensive, ranging from different sized rooms, halls, plates,cathedral,booth,spring all the way down to weird creations. The reverb is for far more then just orchestra and covers reverb needs in general.

Wow! That's cheap. They also have Gigastudio Ensemble for $49 but it only includes the integrated version of GigsPulse and not the VST version.

I suppose you could buy both at $118 which is still cheaper than $299 for the full version of Gigastudio. There is a polophony limit of 160 voices and only 11Gb of sounds instead of 17Gb.

I've had gigapulse for many months now and never knew it could use .wav files. I remember trying to use wav when i first bought it but it appeared to me as if gigapulse did'nt allow this. THANKS for the info! I definitely will check this out.
