Hi fellas,

here it is: The first rough BETA-Demo of Samplematic! :hyper:

Image

Grab it now:
http://www.prodyon-virtual-gear.com/Sam ... c_BETA.zip
(Have a look at the ReadMe for further details)

In case you dont know what it is - it's a kind of
"Poor man's SampleRobot" :hihi:

Samplematic is designed to make recording (not only) MIDI-Capable Instruments
easier. It helps you with creating sample collections of your favourite gear.

Samplematic automatically sends MIDI notes to your Instrument and records the Output in the meantime.

You can record whole Octaves even in different velocity steps at once!
(In the newest BETA Demo you can record up to 16 velocity layers!)

Its also possible to record VST-Plugins simply by using a third-party "virtual MIDI-Cable"!
(Check e.g. LoopBe, MidiOX or MidiYoke!)

Samplematic takes care of Loop-Points (it automatically creates click-free endless-loops) and of truncating the wav-file (remove unnecessary space at beginning) so that you dont have
to worry about that afterwards.

When the record process is finished, you have a bunch of ready-to-use WAV files with Note information and Loops.

From there you can easily import these files into your favourtie sampler, let it automap them and there you go! :)

I'm halfway done implementing SF2 export, so stay tuned for this
feature and other goodies...
(e.g. multiple velo-layers, normalizing, preset switching and so on)

Oh and, since we're in marketplace here:
If you pre-order it now, it is yours for only $39.95.
Good thing about that: This includes even ALL future updates / new versions and so one.
So you dont have to loose anything.

Thanks!

PS: If you discover bugs, please lemme know! ;)

Is there any sort of VST(i) support planned?

Not even SampleRobot has VST(i) support - i guess no, that would be way over my head. For sampling VST(i)'s just use LoopBe, MidiOX or one of those virtual MIDI Cables! ;)

Hmm.

Gonna give it a try later on, though.
Btw, does it automatically cut silence in the beginning of a recording?

If i wanted to sample a VST, i could pass the audio out from my soundcard to audio In of my Fantom S, and mute the internal sounds. If you have a sampler or audio workstation of some sort, you could try this method.

the price seems too high for the features offered. no offense. even with lifetime support. i bought ESC for the same price as an example, and it offers hundreds of additional features. $25 seems fair imo as perhaps a crossgrade price for owners of existing products which have identical features+ ? i cannot justify $50 when i already own ESC as an example.

i tested it and it works, however in the future can you put the limitations in the post for us so we dont go in with false impressions/higher expectations?
readme.txt wrote:
- Know bugs/limitation for now:

- You can only record in WAVm 16 Bits, Stereo, 44 khz at the moment
- The menu isnt fully implemented
- Soundfont export NYI
- MIDI Channel select NYI
- FwBw 50% Loop not working correct
- Samplematic records only what you've select within the
Windows Soundmixer "Recording"-settings. (via Wave Mapper)

------------------------------------------------------------------
1. DEMO-Limitations:
------------------------------------------------------------------

- Max. 5 Seconds recording time per note
- white noise added at 50% of each sample (approx. -40 dB)
stuff like that would be very helpful in the anouncement post.

i will be trying future betas as well. do you have public plans for this anywhere, besides implementing the NYI (not yet implemented) stuff? if it supported some of the features we were discussing here earlier, such as automatic banks/patches the price is justified imo since it is the only one of it's kind with that feature.

looking forward to more.

@Sascha Franck: Yes, it does.

@grymmjack: forget to add this, will do. mh, perhaps you're right.
yes, i'm already working at some of these features, at the moment support for up to 16 velocity layers and that patch/bank switching! :)

So help me understand it creates sample instruments from WAV files (chops them up and maps them) or MIDI sysex dumps(from external Keyboards)? Let me know plz..

No, it automatically creates WAV-samples from any MIDI-gear / instrument and loops them! :)

Via sending MIDI-Notes and simultanously recording from Audio-Input! ;)

Ok, i've added support for up to 16 Velocity Layers, the Midi-Channel function should work now also and besides this i've lowered the pre-order price to $39.95! :)

Please give the Prog a whirl and let me know how it works!
