Anyone know how I can get this to work for me?

I want to automate the lengths to coincide with Midi note ON/OFF. Heres what I'm trying to do.

MIDI NOTE ON = START RECORDING 1st SAMPLE @ C*
MIDI NOTE OFF = LENGTH (SEC) = NOTE LENGTH (somehow automated or calculated)

LAMENT:

I want the recorder to start on MIDI NOTE ON or SEQUENCER START (This is not that hard to do). Next (more importantly), I would like to get the recording length to equal the MIDI NOTE length.

How can I get this to work? Any suggestions? Let me know.

Oh and is there maybe any plugs that will do this? And any help is greatly appreciated.. JHTTI
