hi all,
does anyone use this?

http://www.twistedlemon.nl/

did anyone get this to work in logic pc 5.5.1?
i only managed to make it work in it's own channel, in other words, as a normal compressor, where the incoming signal is the same as the compressed one.
could someone please veryfiy?
thanks in advance ... :)

Works everywhere I put it on my box, don't know about Logic. Pumps nice even without reverbing the key.

If dev reads this: very useful would be hipass/lowpass filter for key, "hold" parameter and release shape.

Btw.: if adding more than four instances, it's instant crash! Maybe this is related to number of virtual channels this plugin opens.

Brok, did you follow the instructions on the site? It's easy to get the configuration wrong, but it works like a charm here in Cubase. It is possible it doesn't work in Logic 5, I imagine it's getting harder and harder to find new things that work in there. :(

Post

if i got it straight on their site:

1. open the plugin (which streams to "alpha")on the triggerchannel.
2. open the second one on the to-be-sidechain-compressed channel.
3. set thisone to "ducking", selecting "use alphachannel

i should be done, no?
they write on the site that it works under logic ... at least i assume this as: 1. they wrote Logic RPC PRO based on Logic Platinum, works ...
i dunno what the "r" before the pc means, nor the "based on logic platinum"
2. i don't see a mac version for download ...

hmmmm ...
i must be doing something wrong ...

Hi Brok :D

1. Set the First and the second one one to A and the ducking channel on ducking :D
2. Remember to turn of bypass on both since they are enabled as default.
3. Experiment with the threshold on the ducked channel.

Hope that this will help :D

if i set the first channel (which is the to-be-ducked-channel) to alpha, it will compress itself, using the same channel, as the first plugin says:
"sending input to virtual channel alpha" ...
i can proove this by simply uninstanciating the second plugin ...
the first channel still is beeing compressed, which couldn't be fed by the signal of the second one then ... ;)

if i set (like you say) also the second plugin (the triggerchannel) to alpha, simply nothing happens, which is also strange, because:
a- the second plugin says "sending input to virtual channel beta"
b- the first plugin (which outputs to channel beta) should be used to duck the second one then, which also doesn't work.

 :o :nutter: :tantrum: :help:

Hmm. Weird i tried it in sonar before i posted (And it work fine here)

Seems like this plug is'nt compatible with logic (Even if it says so).

Post

i strongly assume this, too ... will try in ext, if it works there the way i think the manual says it's a proove ...
nevertheless, thanks all for helping out (even if it doesn't lead to the desired result ; ))!

Hi, I am the dude that has Logic RPC Pro :)

RPC stands for RPC-1 card, that is a PCI card with a Roland R-Bus.
My Roland Studio Package Pro came with that RPC-1 card and the Roland SI-24 control surface, and the Logic RPC Pro software.
Logic RPC Pro is a slightly thinned version of Logic platinum, which is like version 5, I think?

I could send you some presets or screenshots with the sidekick in working mode, if you like to.

I tried it in Cubasis vst 5 and works fine, in the morning I'll try it in samplitude se.

I love this plug. It's the first sidechain plugin that I found working well on Cubasis, other versions and other plugs creates problem beacause of control signal (cubasis is not very flexible...). Thank you so much, it's so much time i dream a sidechain vst plugin easy to use and free...

PS: the routing system is fantastic, it would be great also in a vocoder...

OK, the screenshot is over here :

A real size version is over here : http://members.home.nl/mistermouse/kvr/ ... PC_Pro.jpg

I put a small collection of LOGIC preset in there as well, those are PST files, so only Logic users will be able to use them!
http://members.home.nl/mistermouse/kvr/Logic.rar

If you are curious which presets I made, it are these ones:
1 Send - Signal is audible
2 Send - Signal is not audible (so it does drive the other plugin, but the audio itself is muted)

3 Receive - Signal follower (the signal is only heard when the send signal contains audio)
4 Receive - Signal is lowered (upon getting some audio from the sender, the audio is lowered in volume, I think this is the most used setting?)
5 Receive - Signal is muted (upon getting some audio from the sender, the signal is totally muted)

Note, it is wise to play a bit with the attack and release times, they can be of big influence.

Oh yeah, I love this plugin, it works so good!
