There are lots of posts out there about FX bundles, but I couldn't quite find what I'm looking for. Does anyone have any suggestions for FX bundles that might fit the bill for what I need.
First of all, I'd like to see compression, expansion, limiting, EQ, flanging, phasing, chorus, reverb and delay.
Primarily I like analog sounds, but sometimes digital is good too, so if anything covered both that would be great. If not, I'd be happy to go for 2 bundles if one was great at analog and the other at digital.
Specifically, I'd like to see a good range of EQ/Filter functionality, some extreme flanging, a wide range of reverb types, and plenty of delay options/types.
Currently I've been using Blue Tubes, but I just find them so limited in scope that I get frustrated.

I'd say sell the Blue Tubes (if you're not using them anymore anyway)
and get
the Ohmforce Experience (Phaseshifter, Frequencieshifter, Delay, Flanger, CHorus, Distortion, Filter)
Audio Damage - Reverence (for Plate Reverbs) and Princeton Stereo Room (well for Rooms)
Voxengo Marquis or PSP MasterComp for Compression
And Electri-Q for all your equalizing needs
and get

Do any of these so far have any weaknesses? Do any of these bundles need rounding out with something for a complete set of FX and mastering tools?

well if you buy them all then you'd be set I guess... but just try some demos and you'll see what you like recommondations are useless anyway

Initially I thought you were after multiFX...but it seems I got that wrong. For a full and rounded set of FX, I'll recommend the same route, and buy separate FX. I haven't really come across a complete in-one set that I'd be completely happy with.
You mentioned flexible flanging...personally, if I want any flanging out of the usual, I go straight to Ohmboyz - it's got 2 distinct delay lines, each with 4 discrete taps and a full set of LFOs, waveforms and filters. You really can do some full-on flanging with that - more so than straight flangers. Takes a little bit of setting up, but it's usually well worth it. You can fill the whole stereo field up with mad bouncy flanging or sculpt it specifically to one particular frequency range and panning position. Msotly, all flanging is is delay lines, and Ohmboyz still has the most and the most control.
Eq/filtering etc...you probably do need to try individual demos. All I'd say is that for those FX and probably for the compression etc, you could do warse thaqn concentrate on PSP, Kjaerhus and Voxengo. I'd also check out Audio Damage.
Another recommendation is DB Audio QuantumFX2 - I still rarely use the full potential of it - it's a complete modular FX setup that's capable of doing an awful lot of weird and wonderful things...but you need to invest time into it to get the most out of it. It's not quite as much the straight-out-of-the-box immediate set of FX that I guess you're after? (Although there is a very good set of presets to start with) It does sidechaining (irrespective of host!), lots of Eqs, delays, frequency specific compression, general compression, guitar sims, limiting, choruses, flangers, wah-wahs, reverbs, smooth overdrive, filters galore...etc etc. I'd class it more towards the clean and pristine type character...but if you start making your own uber-patches you can get all kinds of mangling and noise and warmth.
I use QFX2...but I still have the need for separate compressors, Eqs, limiters and filters. But think of QFX2 more as a huge Moog Modular synth - but racked full of FX units instead of synth modules.
Or there's Waves - again I class them as digital and precise, rather than "analogue" character.
And there's always the UAD platform. Some top-notch compressors and limiters and Eqs in there...a stunning EMT Plate and some very useable Roland chorus emulations. They don't yet do delays etc, and the reverbs aren't the complete range though.
Sorry...but I really can't think of one single FX bundle from one company that I would class as complete and "the only one you'll ever need" though...

I don't know, sometimes people describe what they like about something and they hit on exactly what I'm looking for. I think I'll try some of the suggestions at the weekend. So far I think I've got some idea of what people like, and a few mentions of the same product is always good to see.multree wrote:recommondations are useless anyway

There's always FX Lord, it's got a ton of FX bundled in, and is far from limited.

Check out the Waves Musician's Bundle II.
Throw in the Voxengo Marquis or PSP MasterComp, AirEQ, CSR verb and CamelSpace and you're styling imho.

Yeah, Waves keeps coming up as does Kjaerhus and Ohmforce, so I'm going start demoing those 3.
