Some may disagree, but I like what Cake are doing lately. Adding excellent plugs from the cream of the indie developers into Sonar. RGC, Voxengo and now Kjaerhus all adding to the quality of Cakewalk products. Looks like Cake has excellent talent scouts. Also, I really like the look of this new plug.

i think the whole theme of "adding plugins as upgrades" is sort of lame... not just from cake but from magix and steiny as well...

Am still on Sonar Studio Edition, and look very closely to what news in workflow is coming.
Quite some new things there in Sonar 6 that I will test out.
Been looking at getting a pitch correction plug thoug, and V-vocal could do the job, so getting Producer upgrade for €229 is rather cheap compared to just Melodyne Cre8 or Autotune alone is more expensive.
I don't know if Melodyne Uno is easy to work with, or if V-vocal is crap?

Im a big fan of v-vocal, and find it better than autotune in my experience.

From the looks of it, Cakewalk has added functionality, too. Particularly audio quantize and synth racks would qualify I think. Wouldn't some folk also view effects/processors as functionality, though? Like this new Izotope Radius timestretch thing, hard to say it isn't a useful function for a host. The plugins are the least of this update - there are a TON of workflow enhancements and optimizations...but god damn that plug looks killer. I'm betting it sounds fantastic, too - judging from other Kjaerhus plugs.
That channel strip's got to be worth $125 of the $179 upgrade price.

One thing for certain...the GUI graphics on this plug are waaaaaay harder on the eyes than Torben's original GAC-1 graphics. His original positioning of the controls is much more intuitive as well.

It took me quite some time looking the screenshot to locate the controls for 2nd comp and EQ!
