Working on a remix and looking for vsts that can take (either audio or midi) input and do creative things: perhaps mini random sub-sequences, stutters, repeats, midi-editors, etc.
I have tried and love the amazing *dblue Glitch* - but am simply wondering what other tools people have in their chests?
I use Cubase SX3.1 as my main daw. I like the MIDI capabilities for editing drum parts - but often once there is a main groove - making variations is laborious.
any ideas??

I would say that Liveslice is something you should look at - especially now that it has an effect mode which can record.

Well I'm fond of dBlue's Glitch also, but it also has a very, let's say 'signature sound' that is instantly recognizable, and being free is now ubiquitous in all the latest glitchcore tracks I've heard around KVR recently.
It's no secret that I made a few glitch plugs for free back in the day.
Most people don't know that I'm working on something new, lately.
Something with very different capabilities and sounds than dBlue's classic, yet overused, VST.

besides the others mentioned above-
livecut, lucipher2 and heizenbox..all very different and quite powerful....and I'm a bit of an ableton fanboy- Live itself is an incredible instrument for beat mangling...and while many other hosts will allow you similar results, this is one of Live's forte's..and you can do this stuff pretty quickly and painlessly in Live...(toldja I'm a fanboy
)
...I've not even mentioned the "rabbit hole" of beat mangling that you can manage using reaktor...but that's a whole other story. reaktor could keep you busy from now on. period.

beat repeat is icing on the cake for sure (and unfortunately, I don't know of any vst that does the same things in the same way.. 
...maybe you could get into the same neighborhood using Livecut with Squarepusher settings, or with Liveslice with lots of careful edits on a number of scenes and clever playback performance, but neither have the way to set up the same sort of chance randoms and beat repetition behavior...or the immediacy of the effect: beat repeat is quick to set up for interesting bizarre results).. but even way before beat repeat was around, you could do some fascinating stuff in Live: sample offset, unlinking loop behaviors within clips for clip envelopes...hell, the whole idea of clip envelopes is pretty powerful..., the transparent way that you can resample a perfomance of midi triggered clips (with legato settings) quickly editing that performance into a single clip, edits of "clip scrubbing", etc etc...good stuff. But yes, beat repeat is definitely icing on the Live cake
