I am looking for a VST midi FX or MFX that would do a sustain, controller 64. I can always use the Transformer but do not know how to work it. I use Cubase SX3 and energyXT.
In Cubase SX3 when I use Inserts - Midi Control - Controller 64 I get sustain on the VSTi but the keys stick to the down poison, no OFF meesage. Does any one else have this problem? Is there a way to correct this problem?

Sounds like you just need to send a CC64 with value 0 afterwards to release the sustain.

I don't really get why you'd want to do this in the first place. Sustain (on a synth) effectively just delays a note-off until the CC is off (i.e. < 64). So why mess with MIDI CC when you could just make the note longer? Of course, this isn't quite the case if you have a sustain pedal, but it doesn't sound like you do.

I tried the TenCrazy.com Sustain Fix without any luck. Also no luck with the SXfix.dll that was used in SX2. Most often the Inserts - Midi Control - Controller 64 to sustain works fine. I am looking for an alternative for when it does not.

I had told IRRs at http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 89#2104189 that in the process of trying to use the Inserts - Midi Control - Controller 64 to sustain my Virtual Grand Piano I got stuck notes when using his VeelocityCurve plugin which he designed for free for a few of us. Later after much testing I eliminated the VelocityCurve as the culprit and I opened this thread.
Today I again am finding that the VelocityCurve is involved in the problem. But hate to write IRRs as he was not able to duplicate the sustain problem on his system. He has been very helpful but my last post I said that the VelocityCurve was eliminated as being the culprit. It would very embarrassing if it turns out that I am doing something wrong. I am going crazy trying to isolate the sustain problem. I hope that you can help.

In the fog of war one may have trouble shooting but I had fog in troubleshooting, that is troubleshooting my stuck notes primarily when on sustain.
I believe some stuck notes persisted even after I removed or perhaps deleted the VelocityCurve plugin in energyXT. This is what led me to believe that the VelocityCurve is not the culprit. I am wondering if I have two problems that may complicate my troubleshooting.
In any case I get more stuck notes when I use Inserts - Midi Control - Controller 64 to sustain and insert the VelolcityCurve in the midi cable leading to the Virtual Grand VSTi inside energyXT. I just tried it again and this seems to be true. On channel two one piano with the VC had stuck notes wile the other without the VC did not when I activated sustain.
This problem also exists with the A1 VSTi synth. I the case of the A1 synth the notes do not decay as they do on the piano. In A1 they notes stay on.
What I did: I use Cubase SX3 and energyXT. I open two Virtual grand pianos in energyXT on the same channel. One has Veleocitycurve before it and the other has no VC. All is OK until I activate sustain. The one Piano with the VC the notes on the keyboard stay down when stricken. Strangely only six notes and no more stay down. I can then make things ok by removing the VC. And repeat it and again the piano with the VC has stuck notes again.
Any suggestions? This was so the other day accept the problems persisted even when I deleted the VelocityCurve. But not today. All is ok when I disconnect the virtual midi cables from the VC.

I should add that the problem starts when I deactivate and reactive the sustain 64 controller while the VelocityCurve is in line to the piano.
