KORE question

Don't have KORE yet, but would like to know this:
If I have multiple instances of KORE open in a host,
how does KORE know what instance the hardware controller should communicate with?
Or in other words:
How do I tell KORE, which instance I'd like to remote control at a given time?

There's an "Instances" setting in the hardware's browser so you can flip between instances on the fly.

If I understand this correctly, I'll have to select the instance from the hardware controller. There is no way KORE could recognize which track is selected in my host or which instance's editor is open, and base the remote destination on that selection.aMUSEd wrote:There's an "Instances" setting in the hardware's browser so you can flip between instances on the fly.
It also does not let me just click somewhere in the editor on the computer screen so that this instance becomes the 'active' destination for the hardware controller, right?
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
With KORE, if I understood you correctly, the workflow would be the following:
- Select the track in the host, to see what instance of KORE is present in that track. (In Logic and Live KORE's editor would open automatically).
- Remember which instance it is. Btw. how do I distinguish them?
- Then dial up that instance on the KORE harware controller for editing.
Do the ones of you who work with KORE experience this as a big drawback to their workflow?

Not as far as I know - instances need to be selected in the controller - you can't do it just by changing window focus for example.meister eder wrote:If I understand this correctly, I'll have to select the instance from the hardware controller. You can distinguish them in the KORE controller window as the name of the patch that is loaded in that instance is also shown and they are also assigned numbers. To switch you just use the shuttle to switch from one to the other and press enter. You can quickly access instances using the SOUND button on the controller. In terms of ergonomics it's not too clunky though I'd prefer it if there was a dedicated button to press to switch - but then if I was doing it with a standard midi controller I would not be able to see the synth and patch name in the controller so it has that advantage. I tend to use one synth at a time anyway so to me it's not been a bother but for others it might.meister eder wrote:With KORE, if I understood you correctly, the workflow would be the following:
