I'd say Classic Compressor is quite easy on the CPU. But I didn't really measure it's usage.

That alone inspires confidence. If you can load it up, and it doesn't even cross your mind to check CPU usage...

I would say every single compressor on the market, freeware or otherwise, are ridiculously CPU efficient nowadays, with the exception of Marquis and PSP mastering compressor.
