Hi
I'm looking for some kind of audio-dedicated browser, like Acdsee or Xn-view can do for pictures, which would display a folder with audio files (.wav, mp3...), and give info about them (samplerate, bitrate if mp3, size, mono or stereo, etc).

Xn-view is quite fine, but doesn't tell if the samples are mono or stereo, and at this moment, i really do need this feature...
If it could have a browser, a search engine or things like that, of course, t would be extra-bonus !

Ah, and also : There is also another feature i'm looking for : a software capable of making a .txt file with a list of every files in a folder...

Thanks in advance ;)

http://www.geocities.com/samplecatalog/ It would be nice if it would do waveforms. {It would be nicer if explorer did waveforms.}

You can do the text file yourself...
Open a command window {start/run/cmd}, type dir and redirect the output to a text file with a >.

dir > list.text

You can get fancy and do subdirectories with "dir /s > list.txt" or fancier yet with /b /l etc. Choose files to list with *.extension {*.wav, *.aif, etc}

If you want to get truly fancy there are all sorts of ways of sorting and listing the output. You could use a port of ls or grep or fmt or whatever.

{
>> appends otherwise the new file will overwrite the old.

dir >> filename.txt
}

Thank you.
I have also found FIlelister which seems to aim at creating lists, and uc wave browser, which displays mono/stero, sampler rate, etc for wave files...
Uc Wave Browser is old and the interface not really fancy, but it has what xnview lacks (and that i need at the moment).

Not sure if post above refers to the same but Wav Browser 3.0 does the job:

Is there a WAV browser that allows me to categorize WAV files and rate them according to how much I like them? Sort of like adding a webpage to your favourites.

www.loophorse.com has "file inventory" for printing out folder contents. it also has a couple of sample browsers
