I am starting these 2 threads to offer a wee bit of organization to the proceedings.

In this thread, please post what features you hoped would be included in Cubase 4 that are not?

This thread is highlighting what critcal features are absent in Cubase 4.
(For what went right, see other thread).

Is it true you have to refresh the dongle every three months, as has been suggested at SoS?

Post

iZotope's Radius algorithm is missing, but present in Sonar 6.

AudioSnap is more powerful than AudioWarp, that's why I'm disapointed about Cubase 4 !

Post

I won't know until someone buys it whether or not they've sped up the damn loading and closing times! i.e. don't scan the plugins folder every time - do it Wavelab-style.

Post

Curious ...what's the radius algorithm?

Post

I was really bummed to see that they didn't up the capabilities in Audio Warping.... Sonar 6 has a bunch of changes for it in it's upcoming version and Ableton Live's Audio Warping is absolutely amazing... For being a fairly good producer but a mediocre Guitarist... I really rely on Audio Warping to Tighten up my Lackluster Guitar Performance. I am actually pretty shocked that it is not in there at all as a new feature... and if they did improve on it, I am surprised that it isn't showcased. I haven't said this in a long time but I am actually looking forward to Cakewalk's product more than Cubase. I hope someone tells me I am wrong and they did update it. I though there audiowarpiing was cool until I tried Ableton Live's.... I guess that is what Rewiring is for, eh?

Sorry... I mean Audiosnapping :D :D :D

Post

- No tempo-track in the project window.
- No Midi-learn (probably not even an improvement regarding generic remote handling)
- No In-place drum editor.

Post

Generic remote all over again!!! :bang: :bang: :bang:

I could careless about Radius or Sonar.
K-lash you sound like Izotope comissioner, what's wrong with MPEX and other functions no one here has tested??? hu? :box:

What's "Audiosnapping"?

In my opinion... Audiosnapping / Advanced Audiowarping is one of the biggest advancements to come out of DAWs... Before them; it would take my a long time to play a desent guitat line, or I would have to map all the notes to a samplper and then play it that way... Now all I have to do is play the line, make sure I play the right notes... and then I can clean up the rythm on the fly... Saves hours and hours of time (for me at least)

So, Audio Quantizing, then.

Rex is old news. you can apply groove to audio warp or do it manually.
btw pitchshift has now formant correction, the edit is cubase style but Melodyne function is there.

the real diference is this being done on Cubase non destructively, one can go back even after opening and closing a project 100 times.
