Not exactly SE, but there's a cut-down "studio" version. This is the upgrade path for current SL/SE users.

Retail price of Cubase 4 is €879 while the "studio" version will only be €399.

Remember how long it took for Cubase SE 3 after SL/SX 3 has been released? That's the usual Steinberg schedule: first SX/SL (ok ok, Cubase and Cubase Studio now), then Nuendo, and then SE (since there is an Wavelab Essential I guess SE 4 will be called Cubase Essential, if Steinberg will release a product below Studio). I think this product may come next spring or so ...
Well, 250,- Euros to upgrade from SE 3 to Studio 4, some 260,- Euros for Logic Express. No Demo for Studio, and no Dongle for Express. We will see how long I can resist ...
